Synchro (artistic swimming) – latest news December 2017

Synchronized Swimming, (renamed as Artistic Swimming) can be described as a hybrid form of swimming, dance, and gymnastics and consisting of figures and routines.

Whilst the figures have prescribed and precise requirements, the choreography for a synchro routine is almost limitless.  Without a doubt, the routine aspect of synchro, swum to music, is the most appealing and entertaining to watch and perform (as seen on TV).

The sport of Artistic Swimming demands advanced water skills and requires great strength, endurance, flexibility, grace, artistry and precise timing, as well as exceptional breath control whilst underwater. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synchronised_swimming)

Synchronacity Synchronised Swimming club regularly meets for training at Brescia House School in Bryanston in summer and at Wahoo Aquatics Centre, Sunninghill in winter.  Synchronacity is committed to growing the sport in Gauteng.  As the interest grows, so does the need for new coaches and clubs/schools around Gauteng.  Aspiring artistic swimming coaches are urged to contact the club for further information.

The first Saturday of every month is Open Day, and you are invited to bring your daughter along for a free assessment and training session.  Please contact Coach Chrissie on 071 958 7204, email chrissie@synchronacity.co.za for more information and requirements, or contact our club’s Chairman Michelle on 082 856 8537.
